Nonoba Payment API

As Written By RunaWorld July 22nd, 2008

If you guessed the Multiplayer API was the end of the APIs you guessed wrong, Nonoba has released a new Payment API.

This API lets developers easily charge for features in their games which makes me wonder what impact this will have on the casual gaming industry, will completely free games be a thing of the past? Will casual gamers riot? As they have already on Chris’s Fireworks comments:

Who knows what’ll happen.
If you have an opinion on this feel free to post it in a comment.

FWG Bridge Review (Bauer Berates #1)

As Written By Bauer22 July 8th, 2008

Hey could you do me a favor?  I just built a 100 foot long bridge made out of wood and rusty nails for under $5000 bucks. Do you want to test it for me?

Oh yeah and its over an canyon that has no end.  Oh don’t worry, if you die you will die with honor!

Now about now is when you would give me a quick kneecap to the family jewels and tell me I’m a madman.  I mean who thinks putting an cheap budget on something that is the only thing stopping me from a painful death a good idea? Well the people at Free World Games do with their newest game FWG Bridge.  The game is about building bridges only imaginable by Ralph Modjesk and have it cross-able by a bunch of midgets all while in an insane, low budget. Its like Trading Spaces except if you screw up, your neighbors die!!

To read the rest of the review and watch my bridge in action hit the jump.

7 Reasons Why I Love Nonoba (And You Should Too)

As Written By Bauer22 July 7th, 2008

Today, Bauer22, known for his sarcasm and wit on the Nonoba Chatrooms will be writing a guest article.  If you like his style then you may see more of him.

Ok Bauer don’t f**k this gig up like last time!  Your finally back on your feet, Mandy is out of your life, your a new man! Nothing but the top in your sights!

Oh hey people! This is Bauer22 . You may know me as “That B***h that never lets me cyber” or “The 8 year old that says The Jonas Brothers can choke on a hard one” and many other names.  Well today, I have graced NCHYN (My favorite Nonoba Fansite) with my writing.  So, here’s the 7 reasons why I love Nonoba and you should too.

  1. Games: Lets start this easy.  At the base of it Nonoba is a game site and it succeed very well at it.  Last time I counted there were 53,257,181 games on Nonoba. (Give or take a few)  If you want to burn some time with a 5 minute game or want to invest hours on a game then Nonoba’s your site.  From action, to puzzles, to Shoot em’ ups Nonoba has it all. Now chances are one of you out there are going “Oh well www.game site that you found between searching for porn.com has just as many games! I dont see what’s so good about your Nonoba!” Well that’s where #2 comes in.
  2. DEVELOPERS, DEVELOPERS DEVELOPERS, DEVELOPERS!: Sure, your site may have games and all but does it allow you to publish your own game? OK, lets overlook that fact that you couldn’t make a game if your life depended on it but if you could would the site let you? NO! If you had a game you would have to make your own site, put your game on it, and hope that someone sees it and plays it.  With Nonoba, its different.  It doesn’t matter if your a 15 year old kid from England or a Joe Blow from the Windy City you can upload your game for it to be seen by 1,000’s! No having to worry about site cost or advertisement! Hell, Nonoba even gives you API’s to use to develop your games! Talking about APIs…
  3. “The Xbox Live of Flash Games”: With Nonoba’s APIs, developers can make games with achievements and multiplayer.  You can brag to your friends about how your were able to run into the castle, kill the dragon, and save the princess in 5 minutes flat and have proof of it! Your badges of honor will be displayed on your profile for all too see, knowing they will never be as good as you.  You can even play with your friends (No, not THAT way) thanks to Nonoba.  From classics to brand new concepts Nonoba has it.
  4. Chat: Sure, there’s 100’s of chatrooms out there but how many of them have flash games on it? Nonoba has changed the way we play flash games by putting something as simple as a chat into it.  Stuck on level 10? Ask the chat. Need someone to play Fridge Magnets with? Ask the chat. Need to get a angry mob together? Ask the chat.
  5. Forums: What’s there to say about forums? They are a dime a dozen nowadays but when its intergraded on one site, its makes it unique.
  6. Mandy Doesnt Know Im On There: She was such a phyco-b**ch too! Thank good she doesn’t know about it!  I mean at first it was ok.  She may had been a bit clingy but she was cute.  Then, everything gose ape shiv and she wants to know everything I did that day and says Im having an affair with the Post Lady! I had to file 2 restraining orders and move to make sure she doens’t find me!  Sure she knows everything of mine online, but she doesn’t know about Nonoba.  Thank you Baby Nonb!
  7. Im On It!: What more can I say!  If the first 6 didn’t prove it to you then this has to!  Do you know who I am? Im kinda a big deal! I mean, if you were from, where I was from, you’d be f***ing dead!  You have the chance to talk to me on Nonoba, play with me on Nonoba, and play with me on Nonoba (If you’re a lady that catches my drift.)

So there it is.  7 reasons why I love Nonoba.  So if you havent already joined then join now. Come on, it takes 5 minutes and you get to do all the things I stated early.  I’ll see you there

Well thats the end of Bauer’s first artice. Is this an beatuful beginning or something that should be Old Yeller’ed?  Post your thoughts in the comments below.

Blog has reached 1000 friends!

As Written By RunaWorld June 9th, 2008

6 weeks ago, a unicorn joined Nonoba with a task.
A quest you might say, you might even call it a insane obsession.
Blog wanted to get 1000 friends, but being the altruistic unicorn he is he does not need our friendship for his own personal gain, but to help his family of unicorns.
He’s merely using his ‘friends’ as tools to further his own ends the evil dastardly- anyway, he needs his family back.
You see they were all wiped extinct by an evil wizard named Youlax, except of course, Blog.
Youlax decided to give Blog an challenge, being an evil wizard and all, to gain 1000 friends on Nonoba.
If Blog succeeded Youlax would bring his family back so without further ado he walks away and so started the quest of the young unicorn Blog.
Now at 2:30 PM Eastern Central Time on June 9th 2008, that quest has finally been finished.

Kudos to Blog, for your unending perseverence, outward kindness, and steadyfast attitude to the end of your quest.
So what’ll you do now?

Problems with Nonoba chat

As Written By ShadowStalker June 5th, 2008

A week ago Nonoba chat and muti-player games were lagging and in some cases just not working.

This problem has lead many people to believe that Nonoba can not handle the muti-player API and the traffic it will bring. However the Nonoba staff are more then certain that this is not the case and that they are more then prepared.  Here is a message from Chris explaining about what happened to the chat a few days ago.

“Sorry about that folks, a little bug in our server allowed the racing game to take down all MP activities when there where more than 2000 people online playing.

It is fixed now, and at the same time we have ordered more servers for maximum stability. -Chris” (as seen here)

Memotri Review

As Written By JuMpSt4R7 June 5th, 2008

“Memotri”.

Memotri is a memory game on nonoba, developed by matpg. It is fun, and easy to play, and at times, slightly frustrating. Although it can get really boring too, due to the lack of many levels, it is a good, short exercise for your brain.

The rules, as described by the game:

Find three bricks with the same motive. When you get a match, the bricks disappear. You have to clear the field of bricks as quickly as possible. Notice that each level has a par time, if your time is under the par time, you will an extra time bonus. If you make consecutive matches without making an error, you will receive a bonus that multiplies. For each triplet you will receive 1000 points and for each wrong try, you will get 100 points minus. The game has five levels, each one having a high score list. At the end of the game, you can also submit your total score to the high score list for the best results.

Monolith’s Mario World 3 Complete Guide

As Written By RunaWorld June 2nd, 2008

<–WARNING: SPOILERS AHEAD, VIEW THIS GUIDE AT YOUR OWN DISCRETION!–>

Mario is a classic.
There have been uncountable sequels and immeasurable ripoffs yet many fail at what the original did, that is provide good wholesome entertainment.
Here at Nonoba one of our fellow users, Monolith, has taken a stab at making a fangame of Mario, and along with RK have made one of the most if not the most played games of Nonoba history.
With over 2,000,000 plays many gamers have come from distant lands to challenge their skill at the game but suprisingly only a small minority ever actually finish it.
I hope this guide will help you, valiant gamer, on your quest for the Holy World 3 Achievement.
So without further ado, let’s get started!

Complete Tutorial achievement:
World 1:
Here are some video tutorials for the game:
A few things to keep in mind:
1. They’re not continuous, I recorded most of the levels seperately.
2. They’re a bit choppy sorry for that.
3. They’re in no way the best way to complete these levels, I’m simply giving a general outline on how to beat the levels.

Don’t Use Your Nonoba Passwords!

As Written By Toby May 31st, 2008

It’s been brought to our attention that a few members of NCHYN have been using their Nonoba passwords here. While we are ok with this we highly recommend that you use a different password. While wordpress and Phpbb3 are very hard to hack, we want to make sure our users feel safe using our website. Know that while it is impossible for any administrator to view another users password it is in general much safer to use different passwords for every website.

We don’t even care if you don’t use your Nonoba username, we just want our users to feel secure!

We would just like to take this last oppurtunity to make clear that NCHYN is not run by Nonoba nor any of its Administrators or founders. We are a separate fan-website created to post game reviews, guides and Nonoba news.

Be Safe! Use Multiple Passwords!

Nonoba’s Chat Is Out… Again.

As Written By Toby May 30th, 2008

Over the last couple of days Nonoba’s chat has been on the fritz. While several people at first saw no problem, others were reporting in the forums that they were unable to connect or that the chat wasn’t loading. After being fixed it would appear that once again Nonoba’s chat is experiencing some down time, some people believe that the new multiplayer API is putting some strain on the servers whereas others think it is the masses of new members which Nonoba has been attracting.

Either way we can rest assured it will probably be fixed within the next day or two.
